Hi everyone! My name is Mrs. Jane Isaac and I am so excited about this school year. While I have taught many grade levels, most of that time has been in first grade (4 years) and fifth grade (7 years). I'm entering my 15th year of teaching, and this will be my second year as a district GATE Supplemental Enrichment teacher. I have been involved with gifted education for the past several years. I earned my GATE certificate a few years ago, was a site GATE Coordinator, have taught 5th grade GATE cluster classes, and have coached successful academic competition teams for Science Olympiad and Odyssey of the Mind.
I feel privileged to be able to focus on gifted education. I am a very driven person who is always thinking of and creating new and engaging ways to reach students. I work hard and invest a lot of myself for my students' sake. I am really looking forward to this upcoming year!
Here are some random things about me:
*My husband, Jason, and I have been married for 16 years and we have 2 wonderful kids. Jason teaches 7th grade Social Studies at Tenaya Middle School. Grace is in 6th grade at Manchester and Jeremy is in 2nd grade at Kratt Elementary.
*I am a member and regular attender of North Fresno Church.
*I am Canadian and Vietnamese.
*My hometown is Edmonton, Alberta.
*In my spare time (which is rare), I love being with my family, hanging out with friends, eating good food, reading, and blogging.
*Three words I would use to describe myself are hardworking, caring, and dependable.
*Some things I love: candy (like Sour Patch Kids and Dots), sushi, cooking/baking shows, People magazine, taking pictures (just with my point-and-shoot), looking for new ideas for the classroom, traveling, and shopping.
