For this Warm Up, go to Mrs. Isaac and get a Hershey's Kiss chocolate from her. Don't eat the Hershey's Kiss yet! Wait for further directions... While you're waiting for further directions, here are a few sites to look at that relate to Hershey's Kisses! How to Open a Hershey's Kiss video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPU0CAxgGQk Hershey's Kiss Commercials: http://www.hersheys.com/kisses/experience.aspx Little Candy, Big History: http://www.hersheys.com/kisses/experience/our-story.aspx Personalize a Hershey's Kiss: http://www.hersheys.com/kisses/experience/send-a-kiss.aspx Mid Year GATE Student Survey Mrs. Isaac values you and your thoughts! Spend a few minutes going through our class' website to look back on what we've done this year. Then take some time to do the survey below. The answers posted in this week's Warm Up will not show up onto our class website, so please answer thoughtfully and honestly. Thank you! Let's pretend that you are researching for information about dogs in order to convince your parents to get you a dog for a pet.
Take some time to explore and examine the websites below while considering the following questions: 1. Which of these websites would you consider to be the MOST reliable and trustworthy to provide you with information about dogs? 2. Which of these websites would you consider to be the LEAST reliable and trustworthy? Why? 3. How do you know the difference? What evidence do you use to draw that conclusion? Website 1: The Dog Island http://www.thedogisland.com/ Website 2: Dog- Wikipedia https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog Website 3: American Kennel Club http://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/ Which of the websites listed above would YOU use to learn as much as possible about dogs? Write a detailed response explaining why and then submit. Welcome back from Winter Break! Answer both of these questions and then submit.
1) What did you do during your break? 2) What is one thing you did that during your break that can be related to the idea of STRUCTURE? (yes, this is a hard question- I want to see what you can come up with!) SNOW FRIENDS
These snow friends are comparing how tall they are to each other. Frosty, Snow White, Jack Frost, and Snowflake line up in order from shortest to tallest. Frosty is not the tallest or the shortest. Snow White is taller than Jack Frost and Snowflake. Jack Frost is shorter than Frosty. Jack Frost is not the shortest. In what order are they standing? How do you solve this? Once you think you have figured out the order of the snow friends, then type out your answer and submit. In recognition of Computer Science Education Week, for this week's warm up, please explore the coding options on the STUDENT LINKS tab.
