On the field trip, you were asked to choose one disciplinarian role (blue cards) to view the museum through a different perspective. Submit a detailed paragraph about some of the observations you made as a geologist, marine biologist, anthropologist, astrophysicist, botanist, or ecologist. What kinds of exhibits or programs at the museum would've been related to your discipline? Which would have been interesting to your discipline? Why? How would you have answered some of the questions on your disciplinarian card? (click on the card to enlarge it)

I was a geologist and i liked the part with the earthquake simulator. There was also a machine that showed pangea and the continents moving. It also said the effects that happened when they were moving.

Something that would be related to a marine biologist is the aquarium. It would be interesting to a marine biologist to how the marine animals interact. You can have a reservoir for different fish so that people dont pollute. To prevent overfishing, you should have a limit on how much someone can catch. The museum gives them a realistic habitat and it provides them the food they would normally eat.

I was a marine biologist and i loved the part where you go underground and saw all types of fish. I also liked the sting ray tank because it had multiple species of marine animals.

I was a botanist and in the rain forest everything has its own role. There were butterflies that lived on all the trees.Caterpillars ate leaves from the trees that were all around. It was pretty humid there and the plants were well watered so they were in good shape and had just enough sunlight. In the shop they had Venus flytraps that you were able to buy and take care of. I supposed they watered the plants before packaging because they seemed to be living just well. Most likely after watering the plants they tightly packaged it so the water could go through the cycle and rain over it again so it doesn't run out of water.

I was a astrophysicist and an astrophysicist studies outerspace. one thing I observed was the planetarium. according to some photos I saw of the museum courtesy of WWW.Yelp.com, the planetarium is big with lots of seats and a very big screen. the screen shows planets, meteors, meteorites, and asteroids. the planetarium would have been good if I were there. and that's what I saw at my visit.

On the gate field trip I was a geologist. I looked and listened when we went inside the shake house. I learned about how the earthquake started and where it started. They told us about the sanfrancisco earthquake. This is what I learned at the gate field trip.
