Did you have a good Thanksgiving Break? I still have THANKSGIVING on my mind. How many words can you come up with using any of the letters in the word, THANKSGIVING? Rearrange the letters, type out as many words as you can think of and submit.
What things make you, YOU? Design a rough draft of a Google doodle that tells the world “What makes me…me.” Like all Google Doodles, each doodle must incorporate the letters G-o-o-g-l-e. Here are some examples: Draw this on your paper and use it as a guide to design your Google Doodle. Here's what we came up with! If you had to interview someone to get to know them better, what kinds of questions would you ask them? Think about their interests, personality traits, likes, and dislikes... Type out 5-10 questions you could ask them, then submit your answers. (Please do not ask YES/NO questions!!!)
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Logos are everywhere! Companies use logos and slogans to help customers understand what they do and why you should do business with them. Here are a couple of examples... Imagine that you are a graphic designer, and you have developed the logo below for a fictional company called "SPROUT." Using details, communicate your answers for these questions:
1. What does this company do? 2. What could be a possible slogan for the company? Try to develop AT LEAST ONE IDEA that is unique and original. Feel free to suggest as many ideas as you can think of. Imagine that you are a fashion designer and all you have is a large black piece of fabric to design and create a costume. What could you design and make? List AS MANY DETAILED IDEAS AS YOU CAN THINK OF and submit.
CREATIVITY CHALLENGE: Copy this image onto your paper and WAIT for further directions! OUR CREATIONS: OPTICAL ILLUSION #1: What do you see here? Describe in detail what you see in this picture and submit your answer. OPTICAL ILLUSION #2 : this one's for fun (answer is given below).
Imagine that you realize you've become lost in the woods.
You have only the following items in your backpack. How would you use these objects to help you survive? Type your answers and then submit. -a bottle of water -a copy of Diary of a Wimpy Kid -your house key -a comb -a beach towel -a rope -a flashlight Suggestion: Don't limit yourself by thinking you can only use the items the way they were designed to be used! Try using some creative thinking skills such as: combine, redesign, add to, substitute. For today's warm up, please do both of the following:
1. Design Challenge- decorate your nametag for your folder. 2. Visit the GATE Book Date tab. Read about the 3 possible book choices, then click on the link to vote for the book which sounds most interesting to you. |
